The Anchor Inn
Salterforth's local pub. Child and dog friendly.
Open seven days a week serving drinks and food. They don't give opening times on the door, however, will probably be open sometime around lunch time.
Beer garden with seating and children's play area.
The Anchor Inn is famous for its stalactites in the cellar and can be found conveniently right next to the canal.
The pub was originally built on a drovers road before the canal existed and was known as The Travellers Rest. Once the canal was built it made the cellar damp and also the canal was higher than the original pub so the old pub was abandoned and the original ground floor was converted to a new cellar and the old upper floors made into the ground floor with a new second floor built on top giving the pub we have today.
The video below has a little bit about The Anchor Inn towards the end from 13.05 minutes on the clip. Enjoy.
